About Me

Hi there! I’m Kristin, and I’m the creator of Unwed Housewife.

So glad you’re here! I hope you make yourself at home and stay awhile.

So, what is an unwed housewife?

Me! I’m a traditional homemaker who isn’t legally married. Surprised?!

Here’s my backstory…

I’m a born and raised, rootin’-tootin’ Texan (and yes, I run on margaritas and guacamole). While in college, I met and fell in love with my boyfriend. We’ve been together now about 5 years (it’s flown by!).

A year ago, my boyfriend was unexpectedly offered a job in the Midwest. Moving was quite the adjustment. However, over time we settled into our new lives. And, I transitioned into a happy, traditional homemaker and food blogger.

Why create a food blog?

I created Unwed Housewife, first and foremost, because I love food! I love it. I love cooking, baking, creating recipes…I love every aspect of food. Similarly, my boyfriend is passionate about food. Our lives basically revolve around mealtimes. We’re always plotting our next, fantastic meal.

Also, I love to write. Writing is a way for me to organize my thoughts and express myself creatively. I have a lot of fun writing and editing each and every post on Unwed Housewife.

I could never, in a million years have predicted where I am in life right now, but I am so grateful. Unwed Housewife is a huge blessing in my life, and I’m darn lucky to have the ability and time to do it.

When I’m not blogging or making a mess in the kitchen, I like to: practice yoga, read, snuggle with my two cats, sing, go for walks, drink bottomless cups of coffee, and spend quality time with my boyfriend.

What’s next?

I hope you stick around awhile. Even try a recipe like…
